Stop flapping if you’re meant to soar

Some birds fly by rapidly flapping their wings. Others are able to sore on air currents with almost no wing movement. Imagine them trying to switch places! Imagine a tiny hummingbird trying to soar high in the air without flapping, or an eagle trying to flap its wings as fast as a hummingbird does! It. Wouldn’t. Work.

And it doesn’t work any better for us to try to “ flap our wings” instead of resting on God either.

I wonder how many of us are exhausting ourselves, trying to do work that God already has under control. Or stressing ourselves out over things that are a part of the plan.

Matthew 10:29-31 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

If God is willing to watch out for a bunch of birds, you can guarantee He’s even more interested in watching out for you and me as we stand for Him.
