Sometimes it’s really hard to keep them all happy!

One of my girls was actually grumpy in this picture even though she was happy to help with the devotion post. Can you guess which one?🤔 Even the cat wanted to get down. No matter how hard we try, we can’t please everyone all the time. And that’s OK.

Matthew 14:28-30 says, “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.” The storm distracted Peter from focusing on Jesus. Is anything distracting you from Jesus?

Trying to please people is a huge distraction. When I focus on making everyone happy, I stop focusing on making Jesus happy and begin to sink in so many ways. Don’t get me wrong, we take great care of our daughters (and our pets), but our ultimate goal every day needs to be pleasing Jesus, not people. Otherwise, we’re going down.
