Go check it out for yourself!

A while back, I heard a rumor that they put wax on apples to make them shiny and that you can actually scrape it off with a sharp knife…and it works! My brother wasn’t so sure it was added, so he went to our friends’ apple tree and found that the same waxy coating was on those apples too. We need to check some things out for ourselves.

John 20:27-28 says, “Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” Thomas had to see for himself that Jesus really had risen from the dead. Maybe you’ve heard about Jesus but never “checked Him out for yourself.” Maybe you believe the Bible is God’s Word but never actually considered it for your life. If so, I hope you’ll crack open a Bible (or Bible app) and start reading about the amazing life of our Savior! And if you’re thinking, “But I can’t go see Jesus,” the very next verse says, “Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” We can’t see Jesus in person right now, but we can learn all about Him and receive Him into our lives.

Maybe you’ve heard how Jesus has answered prayer for other people…but you still don’t pray much. Or maybe you’ve seen how Jesus can give freedom from addiction and victory over any sin but you’re still doing the best you can on your own. Jesus is amazing. He’s waiting for you with outstretched arms.

But don’t take my word for it: Go check it out for yourself!
