Is it all about us?

Princesses can struggle with being self-centered. After all, they often get whatever they want right when they want it. Don’t worry, the girls don’t actually act stuck up like that (but they did have fun pretending for a moment😬). We want them to know we look at them like they’re princesses but don’t want them to get focused on themselves. We wanna teach them (and ourselves) that life is all about Jesus, not us, and we can give up what we want if that helps someone get what they need.

1 Corinthians 10:23-24 says, “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.” Obviously not everything is lawful or right and good. These verses give us a principle for what to do with things that are not right or wrong in themselves. And the message is clear: Be willing to set your own desires aside to help someone else. We shouldn’t make it all about us.

“Am I allowed to do it” changes to “Does God want me to do it?” “Is it ok to do?” changes to “Is it best to do?” And “Do I want to do it?” becomes “How will it impact and influence other  people in my life?”

Let’s make our lives all about Jesus; then it won’t be a big deal if we have to be inconvenienced to help someone else.
