Blending in or standing out?

The girls had a blast picking out those outfits and then finding things that were close to the same color to hide near. My blue jeans didn’t blend in all that well with the playground equipment, but I did give it a try! Maybe we’ll have to go out in the woods with some camo and see who can hide the best. There are definitely times it’s good to blend in, but there are other times we should stand out.

Ezra 1:2-3 says, “Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.” 2 things: 1, What an amazing thing King Cyrus did for the Jews allowing them to rebuild the temple (and even helping to pay for it!), and 2, It’s sad that he seems to have had to ask, basically, “Where are the followers of God at?” He was looking for people to go do this important work, but I hope God’s people stand out to the point where people don’t even have to ask “Where are the Christians?” To their credit, many godly Jews stepped up and got busy rebuilding the temple, and maybe some of them were already living bold lives for God. But either way, I hope people can tell we are Christians. And while we’re at it, I hope we tell them that we’re Christians because our Savior really is amazing and wants to save everyone!

The world has too many camouflaged Christians; we need some who will step up and stand out for God no matter what anyone thinks.
