What Do You See: a Dragon or a Bunny?

Kinda depends on how you look at it! These are some pieces from a fun family game we recently played. Their shape doesn’t change, but the way we see them can. And that’s true about more than just some wooden dragons.

When we face hard times, God doesn’t change. He’s still good, but we need to make sure we allow Him to change our view of the circumstances instead of allowing our circumstances to change our view of God and His goodness. The end of Job 2:10 says, “What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” Job had just lost most of what he owned and his seven children. And yet he still trusted God. God never does anything evil, but He does allow difficulty to come into all of our lives. God’s goodness is proven by the fact that He brings ultimate good even out of life’s bad (in Job’s case, God proved the devil wrong, gave billions of Bible readers an amazing set of lessons, challenged Job’s friends to grow, and possibly other good things too).

When bad things happen to good people and we start to question God’s goodness, let’s stop and change our view of what’s happening instead of changing our view of God.
