If We Never Admit We Need Help…

Addison’s arm is healed and she is cleared to get back to normal activities! God has been so good, and Addison handled the pain, the cast, and the boredom like a champ.

Before Addison’s surgery back in December, a doctor explained the risks (which thankfully were minimal), and the other option: Apparently since she is young, Addison’s bone would have healed on its own eventually…with some loss of motion. We of course moved ahead with surgery, but in many ways it’s easy to try to keep going on our own, hoping our issues “heal on their own” instead of coming to the Great Physician for His forgiveness and help! I wonder how much spiritual “loss of motion” many of us are suffering because we haven’t come to God with our needs.

God is the Great Physician who loves to heal us physically either here in this life or in heaven, but He offers even greater healing than that. Mark 2:17 says, “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Even if you think you’re too “spiritually sick” to come to Jesus, you’re exactly the kind of person Jesus came to save! Recognizing your need is huge! I hope you’ll come to Jesus for eternal salvation today. And if you are saved, do you tend to notice how much other people need Jesus but miss how much you need Him? We all still need His help, hope, strength, leadership, and answered prayers.

If we never admit we need help, we’ll miss out. They had to adjust Addison’s bone (obviously!), and when we come to Jesus, He may have some things to adjust in our lives, but if that’s what it takes to heal, then it’s worth it!
