When Life’s Got You Tied Up in Knots…

Ever tried to untangled a rope only to realize you were actually tangling it up far worse? Ever had that big of a “knot” in your stomach from fear and worry or maybe knots in your shoulders from stress and hard work? Sometimes we’re tied up in knots because we can’t see how all the “loose ends” of our life can be tied together.

Isaiah 45:1-2 says, “Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight.” God called Cyrus to some amazing work and promised to work out the details, to tie up the loose ends and untie the knots so to speak as He made “the crooked places straight.”

We’ve probably all had times when we though something like, “If it only made sense, I’d be able to go through it” or, “If only I knew when it’ll end, I’d have an easier time continuing on day after day.” But we often don’t get to see how it all ties together until later.

Even when we can’t see how everything is going to work out, how it all “ties together,” let’s trust that God does and let Him help us get rid of that knot in our stomach as we face the unknown or difficult circumstances of life.
