Victory Is Possible Every Single Day

Victory Is Possible Every Single Day

I admire how Addison has handled her broken arm and now the 6 weeks of restricted activity after her cast came off. You can see her arm is healing and bending farther now, but minutes before this picture, I had to ask her to stop doing something that could have hurt her arm. She was disappointed but then asked me to take this picture for a devotion post. In her words: “Just because I have a broken arm doesn’t mean I can’t still have fun on the other stuff I can do.” She wants everyone to enjoy the good things God has for us each day.

For many of us, maybe it’s something more like “Just because we’re dealing with a sickness, just because money’s tight right now, just because it didn’t work out like we hoped it would…we can still enjoy everything Jesus has given us.” After all, we are “more than conquerors through him that loved us” as Romans 8:37 says.

It’s easy to get discouraged, but we can be victors no matter how much life has made us feel like victims. We can rise above our circumstances. 1 John 5:4 says “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

The possibility of victory doesn’t depend on the size of our opponent. It depends on the power of our God! Let’s go live out the victory that Jesus has given us!
