Even When You Feel Like You’re the Only One…You’re not Alone

Jupiter, Venus, and the moon gave us some great views on Tuesday evening! Each of them reflects the sun all the time, but get them shining all together and it’s something special. It was a beautiful display and a great reminder: Your light plus my light plus each Christian’s light can light up this dark world.

It can be hard to keep shining the light when we feel like we’re the only one. Sometimes we’re lonely as we live for God because a lot of other people aren’t, and sometimes we feel all alone because Satan works overtime to make us feel that way even when it’s not true.

At a low point in Elijah’s life (which came right after one of the greatest victories in Elijah’s life), he felt all alone and sank into depression and defeat…until God reminded him of his ongoing purpose and that he wasn’t the only one doing right after all. 1 Kings 19:18 says, “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” If you’re lonely because you’re doing right, keep doing right and watch God bring the support and friendship you so desperately need. Those people are probably already shining bright for Jesus on their own and looking for people to join with them as well.

We can keep shining the light of Jesus’ love because we aren’t alone even when it seems like we are.
