Now for the low, low price of just $5, you can dissect your very own unicorn!!! 🤔 Oops, I mean you can play a knockoff version of Operation! As a girl dad, I spend a lot of time in toy sections and see a lot of unicorn stuff, but this one kinda freaked me out at first! I had to take a closer look and see what it really was.
And that’s true of some stuff in the Bible as well. It’s ok if we don’t understand everything in the Bible. It’s ok if we’re confused sometimes; let’s just make sure we keep reading and keep learning more and more. Hebrews 9:22 says that “without shedding of blood is no remission.” Sins aren’t washed away without the shedding of blood. Sounds kinda strange and even shocking at first, but I’m glad the Bible explains this deep, wonderful truth. Some people look at the animal sacrifices required in the Old Testament and think how horrible it is that an innocent animal had to die. But that’s the whole point: to get us to notice the how big of a deal our sin is. Those sacrifices were pictures of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus would make in shedding His blood on the cross for our sins. People back then could look forward in faith to their Savior coming, and today we can look back in faith at His sacrifice. It’s a wonderful privilege to accept His offer of salvation and then keep digging into the awesome things the Bible has for our lives.
