Brand New Invention: The Napkuum! Part Napkin, Part Vaccum!

I think Brooklyn has accidentally come up with a genius invention: a napkin that vacuums up a spill! This is how she’s said “napkin” for a while, and I love how kids put stuff! A lot of the “incorrect” names kids call things are actually really smart and spot on! As we get older, the what we call stuff might get better, but the way we look at life often gets worse.

Mark 10:13-16 says, “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”Children were insignificant to society back then, but they mattered to Jesus. And so does every person. Everywhere.

Have you come to Jesus in simple, childlike faith? Do you rest in His care and promises like a child rests in their parents’ arms?

As we get older, we often forget how to trust. Maybe you have absolutely no one in your life that you can trust. You can always trust Jesus!

As we get older, we also often forget how to accept love. Maybe you’ve been hurt by person after person or circumstance after circumstance. Maybe life has beaten you up pretty badly and it’s hard for you to feel like you’re good enough to be loved. Maybe every person in your life seems to only love you if you’re good enough. Jesus will never once look at you that way. Those children were no doubt wonderful kids, but Jesus loved them because He created them and nothing could ever stop His love for them. He accepted them and loved them not because they were that good because He is that good.

We don’t have to be good enough to come to Jesus for salvation and daily help and love; we just need to be willing.
