Who’s Carrying the Load?

Dad carrying his daughters while they carry stuff

Addison carried the backpack, Brooklyn carried the weight, but I carried them AND their stuff. Fun times, but I might have trouble doing this again as the girls get bigger! 💪 We each have a load to carry, but that’s ok when God is the one carrying us AND our load.

Deuteronomy 9:1-3 says, “Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven, 2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak! 3 Understand therefore this day, that the LORD thy God is he which goeth over before thee; as a consuming fire he shall destroy them, and he shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly, as the LORD hath said unto thee.”

God was about to bring the Israelites into the Promised Land. Israel would face battles, but they wouldn’t have to do the heavy lifting. They could simply enjoy being a part of what God was doing. They did well for a while but sadly went their own way many times after that and suffered the consequences. They needed God’s help but often didn’t want God. I hope each of us realize that we NEED God and His help and that we should WANT God in every part of our lives.

If you’ve never begun a relationship with God through Jesus, please know that you don’t have to carry your burdens alone. God wants to forgive you of your sins, have a forever relationship with you, and to carry you through every day for the rest of your life.

If you’re a Christian, remember that God calls us to a life of active service, but it’s service with Him doing the heavy lifting and letting us enjoy the journey with Him.

We can carry our load each day as long as God carries us.
