Interesting but Useless?

The Book of Useless Information

Useless Information…Maybe that’s how you feel about a class at school or meeting at work! I flipped through that book for a bit, and it did have some fun info in it…just nothing that was going to change my life.

Unfortunately, a lot of people look at the Bible the same way, but God gave us the Bible to impact our lives…if we’re willing to let it. God’s Word is relevant to us today and every day but will only affect our lives if we read it with an open and eager heart instead of reading it with bored, glazed over eyes or a critical spirit that constantly looks for something we don’t like.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” The Bible is able to look right into our lives and show us anything that we need to change. When you read the Bible, do you let the Bible read you? Do you let it show you anything you need to stop doing or start doing?

I would never look at the Book of Useless Information to help me make a decision, but we should all look to God’s Word for guidance every day.
