How many did you come up with? I gotta admit 2 things: First l, I’m bad at these puzzles. And second: There’s nothing wrong with this picture. It’s just our beautiful view here in Virginia. But I’ve learned something else about myself: If I try to find something that’s wrong, I always will. This was just a silly trick, but in life, it’s easy to find things to complain about. Any time we want to. But if we try to find something good, something to be thankful for, we always can.
Philippians 2:14 says, “Do all things without murmurings and disputings.” One writer has said that “Unsaved people complain and find fault, but Christians rejoice.” Sadly, that’s not always the case for many Christians (including me). No one’s perfect, but we can all focus on the positive and stay thankful even when we want to complain.
And the verse right before that one gives us a great way to stay positive: “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” God is at work; He’s actively and lovingly involved in each of our lives. He can use even our worst days for our good and His glory. There’s always a lot to be thankful for!
