If Aynnoe Can Raed Tihs, Geart, But If Not, Still Read the Rest!

No, this isn’t a foreign language, just a silly “reading test” to see who can read words with all the middle letters scrambled. Lots of things can feel like a foreign language (one of my college professors took statistics as a foreign language while getting his doctorate…so math is a foreign language!).

I think we can all feel like the Bible is written in a foreign language sometimes (even when we’re reading it in English). A lot of people get frustrated and think, “I can’t ever understand the Bible, so I might as well stop trying!” But the Bible offers some great encouragement for us when we genuinely want to understand what the Bible really says.

John 16:13 says, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.” It takes God’s help to understand the deep, amazing truths of God’s Word. Thankfully He loves to reveal His truth to us. Our job is to accept and follow what He shows us. All Christians have the Holy Spirit living in us, helping us to understand the Bible, and God also loves to reveal Himself to those who don’t know Him as Savior yet.

2 Corinthians 4:6 says, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” God is shining the light! If we accept what God reveals about Himself and the Bible, He will eagerly show us more. The Bible can be confusing, but if we accept the parts that we do understand and put them into action in our lives, I absolutely believe God will help us understand more. It all comes down to what we do with what God shows us.
