We had a wonderful time hiking with our teens on Saturday. This has been one of our favorite hikes since our family first went there over five years ago. It’s a great hike, and I enjoy all the different views of this amazing waterfall! It’s one of the longest waterfalls on the East Coast. It’s not as steep or flashy as some other waterfalls. It doesn’t make as big of a splash, but it constantly keeps flowing day-in and day-out, and thousands have benefitted from its beauty (we even saw a wedding happening while we were there!).
You ever feel like that: like you don’t make much of a splash? It might be a weird comparison, but maybe we don’t have to be #1 to make a difference. Maybe we don’t have to be flashy to be effective. Luke 16:10 says, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” It’s not about being the best or being in the spotlight: It’s about faithfully doing our part day-in and day-out.
Some of the most effective people may never be put into a “highlight reel”…at least until heaven!
