Our family was in a car accident on Monday…and we are totally fine! Not a scratch on us, our car, or the other car or driver! In fact, the only damage was to the other car’s front license plate. We stopped at a stop sign and got rear-ended. We figured our bumper was probably all torn up, but that tow hitch took all the impact! It’s good to have something protecting you from behind, and it’s even better to have God watching your back!
We’re thankful God was watching our back even when we didn’t know danger was coming. Psalm 139:5 says, “Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.” We should willingly move forward with God because He’s the One watching what’s up ahead and behind, all at the same time.
The Psalm makes it clear that God knows everything about us, and verse 6 says, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” It’s amazing that God knows everything we say and do and still loves us and watches out for us.
God is always watching our back; hopefully we’ll let Him lead us forward today, even when there’s a hurricane coming. I’m praying for all those in the path of Hurricane Ian and glad God is there with you watching your back.
