I like a good bike ride as much as the next person, but this guy was really getting it done! I don’t think I’m coordinated enough to keep two bikes going as smoothly as this guy did. He really was just cruising down the road, and the other bike was along for the ride.
Life has bumps along the way, but when we’re on the path Jesus has for us, He’s the one keeping us going and carrying us along. Even during the most difficult times, we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride with Jesus.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Instead of running ahead of God, let’s “wait upon the LORD” by never getting ahead of His timing. It’s easy to want more money now, a new relationship now, success now…but all of those things can become disastrous without Jesus. And when life’s stressing you out and you’re feeling weary and starting to faint, be intentional about making sure you’re right where Jesus wants you, and then let go of the worry and let Him keep your life rolling along in the right direction.
That bike wouldn’t make it very far on it’s own, and we won’t make it very far without Jesus, at least not toward anything that really matters.
