WATCH OUT!!! We pulled out of a gas station headed right toward this! I knew that truck was being towed backward, but there’s still something freaky about seeing a big truck aimed right at you! If we really were about to face a head-on collision, the obvious thing would’ve been for us to change directions.
Sadly, it’s all-too-easy to realize we’re going the wrong way spiritually, heading for disaster, and still refuse to change. Acts 26:20 describes Paul’s desire for those he had preached to and God’s desire for all of us: “That they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.”
What do you do if you realize you’re going the wrong way? You hang a U-turn! What do you do if you’ve always rejected Jesus and never placed your faith in Him? You repent by making that spiritual U-turn and trusting Him as your Savior.
As Christians, what should we do when we realize we’re going the wrong way? Live out our faith (“do works meet for repentance”), not for salvation but for course correction.
