We got to go to Mardel bookstore in Lynchburg yesterday. Great place with lots of fun stuff including this game (might have to try this out in youth group sometime)! I’m no artist, but it seems like I’d be even worse trying to draw with my nose!
Life gets difficult, discouraging, even depressing sometimes, and those are times when we definitely need the right “tool” to help us. Just it won’t be your best work of you try to draw with your nose, we could try to turn to alcohol or drugs when things are tough, but it won’t be the best solution. Instead of helping, it will make things worse. And worst of all, we’d be under the influence of that substance instead of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” Let’s follow God’s plan and turn to the One Who offers genuine hope, help, and solutions.
And maybe you’re not tempted by drugs or alcohol, but ask yourself this: “When I’m struggling with something, do I turn toward what helps or what hurts?” It’s much better to turn to the right solution, the One Who can truly help with life’s challenges.
