You’re never too old for Play-Doh! It’s a classic toy that gives us a clear example of something that’s very easy to shape however we want.
The world and the devil will constantly try to shape us to fit their mold just like Play-Doh fits whatever mold we use for it. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
A lot of people’s #1 goal at school or work is to fit in no matter what. But the Bible calls us to something better, something bigger: to daily live out the radical, amazing transformation that happened when we accepted Jesus as our Savior!
If the Bible says it’s right, don’t stop doing it. If the Bible says it’s wrong, don’t compromise with it even a little.
Instead of trying to “fit in” with the ungodly influences around us, let’s remember this great encouragement that’s tucked into a song: “The King of Heaven wants me, so this world has lost it's grip on me.” We don’t have to fit in with the world around us when we have an all-powerful God Who loves us and has a much greater purpose He’s calling us to!
