In Light of the Supreme Court Reversal of Roe…

I love writing devotions each day but felt it was best today to simple share this one from May:

God Had a Plan All Along

A few thoughts on why I’m pro-life…We “got the call” about Addison a day after she was born. We met Brooklyn’s birthmother months before B was born. Either way, they were living people before we met them. For Brooklyn, we got to see ultrasound pictures before she was born. For Addison, we did not. Both were just as alive in the womb. God knew they were on their way to us even before we did!

Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” God is describing the specific plan He had for Jeremiah, but it’s clear: God has a plan for each life, even before a baby is born! Ending that life in the womb takes away that baby’s chance to experience the amazing plans God had for his or her life.

Even before B and A were born, God had a plan for them to be in our family and to use their lives in some amazing ways, and I can’t wait to see everything God has in mind for them!. Many women would have thought only of themselves when facing an unexpected pregnancy, but I commend our girls’ birthmothers for also thinking of these children and making a loving (and difficult!) choice. These birthmothers didn’t evaluate the humanity of the babies based on convenience, timing, or circumstance, and our family has been wonderfully changed because of those decisions.

The picture of Addison “flying” is from the courthouse, minutes before her adoption was finalized. She’s been a Lundy even before she was officially, legally a Lundy, and a baby in the womb is a human before some claim he or she is officially, legally a human.

I know I’ve made this issue very personal, but that’s kind of the point! The abortion/pro-life question is ALWAYS about a person whether born or unborn. Unless something changes, some of them will never get a chance to experience God’s amazing plan for their lives. To see encouraging posts like this every day:
