Memorial Day Motivation—We Remember

Remembering the sacrifices that paid for our freedoms should inspire all of us. I love our country and am so thankful for all the men and women who gave their lives for America. The memories of the sacrifices made should motivate us, and Jesus made the greatest sacrifice of all to make possible the greatest freedom of all.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 puts it so well: “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” Jesus’ sacrifice offered us salvation, freedom from sin, and an eternal home in heaven one day. That sacrifice should drive Christians to live for our Savior, enjoying the freedom He bought us.

As we celebrate this Memorial Day and the days after, let’s never forget the cost of our freedom here in America, and let’s never forget the ultimate sacrifice that paid for our salvation. Instead of taking our freedom for granted, let’s live out what they died for.
