We Don't Have to Have the "Perfect Words" To Pray...But We Do Need to Pray!

 Brooklyn: “5!” Addison: “9!”

It took us a moment, but we got what they were saying. We were playing the game “Beat the Parents” and this was the question Jen asked the girls. We quickly realized they were thinking of school where they do “combinations” meaning addition and subtraction! Because we know them so well, we got what they meant and then helped them get the right answer.

Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

When we talk with God but can’t come up with all the “right words” in our prayers, the Holy Spirit prays for us, helping us be able to get the right answer we need (which is sometimes even bigger and better than the answer we wanted to begin with). Mathew 6:8 tells us that “your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” He wants us to spend time with Him in prayer, and He also knows our hearts and helps with the words as we pray. God is constantly doing good all around us, but we miss out on answers when we don’t take time to pray.  So let’s spend some time talking with our Creator today!
