It’s about to Blow!!!

We had some science experiment fun this morning! Jennifer Lundy found this fun idea: put vinegar and baking soda into a bag, close it, and watch it grow until it pops as the reaction happens. The girls kept a safe distance, and it was a great different take on the classic “erupting volcano” experiment.

This activity also reminds me of what happens to us if we don’t deal with stuff inside us the way we should. Ephesians 4:31 says, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.” Bad stuff builds up inside us if we let it. We probably all get angry about something every day (or maybe every other day if you’re super spiritual!), but those things don’t have to build up until we blow. We can choose to forgive.

Forgiveness can be really hard, and the other person doesn’t always deserve it. But that’s not why we forgive. Verse 32 says, “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” We should forgive people because God has forgiven us for WAY MORE if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior!

Instead of letting anger and bitterness build up inside until you blow, choose to forgive today.
