Wind: 1 Trampoline: 0
It sure seemed like our trampoline was secure there in the side yard…but the wind on Thursday was apparently strong enough to lift it over the fence or force it through that little gap (didn’t see it, and no video unfortunately but a kind lady stopped to see if the trampoline right by Route 11 was ours! Thank you to her and to Jake Griffin for helping us drag it up the hill). After moving what’s left of the trampoline to our back yard, we anchored it down the best we could. So far, so good but today’s supposed to be pretty windy again; so we’ll see!
Hebrews 6 tells how God guaranteed His promise to Abraham all those years ago, and His promise is just as sure and definite for all who become a part of God’s family by accepting salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. Hebrews 6:18-19 says, “That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.” God keeps His Word, and that’s an amazing anchor for our souls no matter how “windy” life gets.
If Jesus is our anchor, what everyone else does won’t affect us too much.
If Jesus is our anchor, we’ll stay put, keep living for Him no matter what happens politically, economically, and no matter what’s most popular.
If Jesus is our anchor, we can move forward with confidence.
Not sure if our trampoline “anchors” are gonna hold, but God’s promises definitely will!

Psalm 6:1 O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. 3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long? 4 Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? 6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. 10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
