Very simple thought with a very powerful lesson: Of course that bucket floats just fine…until it gets water in it! Of course we’re in the world, surrounded by it, but that doesn’t mean the world needs to be in us. If we fill our lives with Jesus, we’ll stay afloat no matter what. But let the wrong stuff push Jesus out as our top priority and we’ll sink like a rock.
In John 17:11, Jesus says, “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
Jesus isn’t here physically, but He is with us and will fill our lives with His love and truth if we’ll let Him. In fact He wants to live through us. We can be His hands and feet, so let’s make sure our lives are so filled up with Jesus that there’s no room for the wrong stuff.
